Dylan Statham is an artist and designer living and working on unceded Wurundjeri land in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.
His work explores material relations — how encounters between people, images, and places are shaped by social and structural conditions. Drawing on traditions of documentary, design, and theory, he approaches images not as isolated objects but as fragments within a larger system of relations. Central to this is an investigation of how images function as vehicles for communication — not only transmitting meaning but shaping the conditions of encounter.
This website is structured as a living archive: a photography-based inquiry that evolves over time rather than presenting a closed body of work—operating as a research and development repository to facilitate learning.
